Dojo Rules & Regulations:-
The members of Karate-Ka (karate students) shall conduct themselves in a manner that will reflect the utmost humility and respect for themselves and their dojo (School/ Classroom)
The Karate-Ka shall be loyal, honest, and possess a high degree of integrity with a purpose of developing cooperation with and trust of fellow Karate-Ka, Assistant Instructors and Sensei (Teacher).
NOTE: The following guidelines are instituted in the Dojo, primarily for the safety and protection of Karate-Ka:
- Students should leave shoes, socks and all jewelry outside the Dojo.
- Students should not consume any food or drink, tobacco products or chewing gum in the Dojo.
- Students should not use any electronic devices (mobile, tablets etc). However, if there is any emergency, student can use the same after obtaining permission from Sensei or Assistant Instructor.
- Students are requested to reach the class 10 mins prior, so that they can do warm-up to stretch out muscles before class begins.
- Students should address the head instructor as Sensei while in the Dojo, or in any Karate environment.
- Students should strictly follow instructions from Sensei or Assistant Instructors and disregard other distractions.
- Students (Aged 4-17) should not use any equipment unless authorized by Sensei or Assistant Instructor.
- Students should maintain silence in the class. In case of query, you can raise your hand and once Sensei acknowledges, you can raise your concern.
- Students should maintain discipline by keeping their bodies clean, and their toenails (very important) clipped short, smooth and clean. Fingernails are to be kept smooth and clean.
10. Student should wear clean and tidy GI (Uniforms) with chest patch and respective belt, regularly to the class
- Students should strictly follow class timings and should not take unnecessary breaks in between, except in case of emergency, that too after receiving permission from Sensei or assistant instructor.
If you are late to class:
Quietly warm up and stretch out on your own, before starting class activities. Once you finish your warm-up session, wait for Sensai or Assistant Instructor to acknowledge and then join regular session.
- Students should not leave early from class (before the closing bow) without being officially dismissed by Sensei or assistant instructor.
- No sparring (or other activities) allowed without permission. When sparring or in any way interacting with other students, especially if they are lower in rank, ALWAYS consider their limitations and level of strength and skill, and adjust the speed and power of your technique accordingly.
- Students should not lose their temperament in the Dojo, especially while sparring or interacting with other students.
- Students should NEVER use their skills in an aggressive or imprudent manner, in or out of the Dojo!
- Sensei or Assistant Instructor would inform the students about the eligibility to attend next belt grade, based on their performance in the class.
- While receiving instruction in Karate, students should not train at or belong to any other Dojo or martial arts class or studio without the permission.
- Each student should follow this mantra. Leave your ego at the door. Respect all, especially yourself.
